Director Andrés Negre and winemaker Joan Gutiérrez are in the team at Santa Catarina in Sencelles that currently are in the process of planning its own rebirth with enormous effort, high hopes and great passion. A Swedish entrepreneur, Stellan Lundqvist, founded Santa Catarina in 1984. Santa Catarina decided to stop its wine production in 2002. In 2014, Stellan Lundqvist’s family made the decision to produce their own wines again. With the idea of starting viticulture again, it was a groundbreaking, different project. Bodega Oloron is located at the foot of the Serra de Tramuntana Mountain range near the pretty little village of Alaró. Winemaker Tomeu Llabrés wines has an incredible potential, creating some of the Balearic region’s most ground-breaking wines. In 2012 he founded his micro-winery in a former auto garage. Working with minimal intervention and with the utmost respect for the terroir and the native grape varieties of Mallorca. Ca’n Verdura has been maturing, always maintaining its original essence, character and family tradition, while at the same time adapting to the demands of each vintage.
